1. Data Saver modes
- Server Only: use for troubleshooting and live-only behaviour.
- Static Only: fastest catalogue load, server catalogue writes blocked.
- Static + Server: static catalogue first, server overlays live changes.
- Static + Server + Backup: recommended daily mode for speed and safety.
2. Static catalogue
The app includes a large embedded/static device catalogue. It reduces server load because the full library does not need to be downloaded from the server every time.
- Good for large device libraries.
- Faster page opens and device search.
- Missing items can still be added manually.
3. Sync missing static devices
For categories such as laptops, admins can push missing static devices to the live server without overwriting existing records.
- Only missing devices are inserted.
- Existing live devices are preserved.
- Use this after catalogue expansions or first deployment.
4. Photos and uploads
Shared photos are best used when online. In offline or busy-server situations, the browser can still continue with local label work and printing.
- Remote photo upload requires connectivity.
- Cached or local data can still support printing.
- Use bulk photos page when connectivity is stable.
5. Admin defaults
Admin Default Style controls common branding such as fonts, colours, footer text and label look. Users can optionally use personal style settings if allowed.
- Use Builder for richer template layouts.
- Keep common brand styling consistent across staff.
- Re-test one portrait and one landscape preset after major changes.
6. Backups and safer changes
Before major catalogue or style changes, export backups. Use the recovery copy for safe rollback if needed.
- Export static catalogue backup when refreshing device data.
- Keep a full recovery backup before big admin changes.
- Avoid mass edits during unstable connectivity.
7. Users and permissions
Admins should keep roles simple and only grant elevated access where needed.
- Users can label and print without admin access.
- Admin rights should be limited to trusted staff.
- Use consistent usernames and review templates after changing defaults.
8. Legal pages
Privacy and disclaimer pages are included inside the app footer for both users and admins.
